Pegboard Nerds Unleash “Blackout” Via Monstercat’s 5 Year Anniversary Compilation

Pegboard Nerds Unleash “Blackout” Via Monstercat’s 5 Year Anniversary Compilation
Brian Bonavoglia

The wait is finally over, Pegboard Nerds highly anticipated single “Blackout” has arrived! Yes, it is odd seeing the Scandinavian duo’s name behind a tune that isn’t dubstep, but this track is an electro beauty. I mean would you really expect anything less from these two? Let’s not forget the ventured into the world of electro with “Emergency” and look how successful that bad boy was. These nerds are much more than a one-trick pony.

“Blackout” has been released to celebrate Monstercat’s 5 Year Anniversary as part of their latest compilation that is full of the latest and greatest from the label. Similar to other Pegboard Nerds releases this original is an explosive tune that is sure to be a fan favorite throughout the remainder of festival season.

4 Year Anniversary of Adam “MCA” Yauch’s Passing – “The Adam Yauch Note”

  • 4 years ago Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away after his 3 year battle with cancer, he would pass away at age 47. One-third of the Beastie Boys, MCA was cooler than a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce. He was a self-taught bass guitarist, a Buddhist monk, the founder of in my opinion the greatest white act in Hip-Hop, the Beastie Boys and founded his own independent film company, Oscilloscope Pictures. He also had a hand in human rights movements, he was a strong supporter of the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) rights and feminist movement. So as they say there is no sleep in Brooklyn, MCA is never restless since his impact lives in Hip-Hop, forever. Salute to MCA and the Beastie Boys for their impacts in Rap and Hip-Hop, may MCA Rest In Peace. Here’s a clip of the Beastie Boys acceptance speech from their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2012, MCA couldn’t attend due to his illness.

The venue change will allow for an overall bigger festival with six stages including two main stages. While the lineup is unannounced, one can only imagine who might be playing this massive festival. A limited number of tickets are on sale here, and be on the lookout for when the lineup comes out.

Bonnaroo Unleashes Massive Lineup for 15th Anniversary
Zach Nass

The act of simply posting an image of your lineup will soon begin to no longer suffice in the constantly evolving world of music festivals. Patrons are constantly demanding new methods to grab their attention and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, one of the most renowned events throughout this industry, is a step ahead of the game.

From allowing “Weird Al” Yankovic to host the live announcement of their 2013 lineup to having the very patrons attending 2015’s installment make the announcements via their social media accounts, Bonnaroo’s originality is on constant display. 2016 has continued to follow suit as the official Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival lineup was just released for the masses and in a very special way. The lineup was announced via Conan on TBS, the first time we’ve ever seen a Music Festival lineup announced live through a popular talk show.

Last week, Bonnaroo revealed that their lineup would be announced on January 19th at 11:00 PM Eastern on Conan. Everyone has been patiently waiting for tonight’s announcement to see who is going to grace the What and Which Stages as well as This Tent, That Tent and The Other Tent. With the 15th anniversary of the Festival taking place this year, there has been a lot of speculation as to whom will be traveling to Manchester, Tennessee this summer.

Pearl Jam, LCD Soundsystem, M83, J. Cole, Zeds Dead, RL Grime plus many more will be heading to The Farm this June. Dates for the festival are June 9-12 in Manchester, TN. Tickets go on sale January 22 at 12:00 PM EST, so don’t forget to grab a ticket before it’s sold out! Check the rest of the stellar lineup below.
